Promotion Workshop to Launch Innovative Tourism and Hospitality Courses
Vientiane, Laos, 20th August 2025 – National University of Laos (NUOL) held the Promotion Workshop to introduce newly developed courses in tourism and hospitality under the INNO4Tourism Project. The event was chaired by Prof. Dr. Dexanourath Seneduangdeth, President of NUOL, and brought together diverse stakeholders, including representatives from Ministry of Education and Sports, Ministry of Tourism and Culture, higher education institutions, hospitality employers, tour guides, tour agencies, hotels, students, academics, and alumni, as well as non-governmental organizations operated related to tourism and hospitality, with the total number of 40 participants.
The workshop was primarily designed to introduce the 8 newly developed courses on tourism and hospitality to stakeholders and explain how they are going to be piloted with university students and tourism workforce (company employees) starting from academic year 2025-2026 onward. Those eight innovative courses include:
- Hospitality and Tourism Sustainable Business Operations and Management
- Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurship
- Introduction to E-service
- Information System for Supply Chain and Customer Relationship Management
- ICT for Tourism Business
- Labour Market Analysis and Job Seeking in Tourism
- Digital Marketing for Tourism
- Personality for Tourism Operators
These courses will be delivered by NUOL academics and inviting specialists from companies and organizations operating related to tourism and hospitality, aiming to balance 10–30% theoretical learning in classrooms and 70–90% practical training through real-world applications.

The INNO4Tourism Project, co-funded project supported by European Union under the framework of Erasmus+ Programme for Capacity Building in Higher Education, is designed to support Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Laos and Thailand in aligning with the evolving demands of the hospitality and tourism labour market. Its primary goal is to strengthen University–Business Cooperation (UBC) and enhance student employability by introducing innovative, market-responsive curricula focused on sustainable tourism.
