From 17 to 21 February 2025, Savannakhet University (SKU) successfully hosted the National Training Seminar of the INNO4Tourism Project, entitled “Innovative Curricula for Lifelong Learning of a Sustainable Tourism Workforce.” The event took place at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Faculty of Business Administration.

The seminar sought to advance curriculum development in sustainable tourism and to strengthen the professional competencies of university staff. Approximately ten participants took part, representing the Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, and the Planning and International Relations Division.

Over the course of five days, participants engaged in interactive sessions that addressed key areas including curriculum design, needs assessment, learning outcomes, innovative teaching methodologies, and collaboration between universities and the tourism industry. Group activities enabled participants to design practical curriculum frameworks that incorporate sustainability principles and foster lifelong learning.

The training program equipped participants with essential knowledge and practical tools to enhance curriculum development in alignment with both national educational priorities and global tourism trends. This initiative represents a significant step toward preparing the next generation of tourism professionals in the Lao PDR to serve as catalysts for sustainable development.
