INNO4Tourism Promotion Workshops, Savannakhet University, Savannakhet Province
Savannakhet Province, 21 August 2025 — Savannakhet University (SKU), through the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Faculty of Business Administration, successfully organized the Promotion Workshop of the INNO4Tourism Project: “Innovative Curricula for Lifelong Learning of Sustainable Tourism Workforce.” The event introduced new academic initiatives aimed at strengthening tourism education and enhancing workforce development in Laos.
The workshop opened with welcoming remarks and an official address by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khoune Sackbouavong, President of Savannakhet University and Project Manager. In his speech, Dr. Khoune emphasized the importance of developing innovative curricula to prepare graduates for the evolving demands of the tourism industry while fostering sustainable development in the region.

The event brought together more than 40 participants, including university deans, faculty members, students, and representatives from government and private sectors such as restaurant owners, massage businesses, the Business Association, and Indochina Bank.
Two new courses were introduced during the workshop:
- Digital Marketing for Tourism, designed to equip students with modern digital skills to promote tourism businesses effectively.
- Personality Development for Service, focusing on communication, professionalism, and service excellence in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Following the presentations, participants engaged in an open discussion session, exchanging ideas on how these initiatives could contribute to the sustainable growth of the tourism sector in Laos.
The workshop concluded with reflections on the vital role of higher education in building a resilient, skilled, and future-ready workforce for the tourism industry.
